At the request of Serkong Rinpoche, Atisha Mathur and Fabrizio Pallotti gave the preliminary teachings at ILTK from 20th to 23rd February. The main aim of this preliminary session is to introduce and clarify the logical structure of this precious text and meditations related to it. We will delve deeper into the meaning of these preliminary subjects through explanations, examples, discussions, debate and Q&A sessions, as well as analytical meditation on the subjects. Our main reference material will be The Science and Philosophy in the Indian Classics, chapter 2 “Methods of Inquiry: Critical Reflection and Four Reliances”, and the first two chapters of the Exposition of Valid Cognition.
Three means of Valid Cognition
The Principle of Direct Contradiction and Elimination of the Other
Precise Boundaries of the Object of Negation
Definition of Ignorance or Wrong Consciousness
Introduction to the Truth of Cessassion Master
Nagarjuna is the pioneer of this tradition of transcendental wisdom that developed from the Sutras on the Perfection of Wisdom. Each of His words is an ocean of vast and profound meanings that lead to the complete development of human qualities. In fact, Rinpoche requested preliminary sessions to guide and support students, so they can later truly benefit from his teachings.
